As curriculum-based assessments, the HELP and the BCP are not standardized; they are used for identifying needs, tracking growth and development, and determining "next steps" (target objectives). They offer play-based activities and intervention strategies for each skill. Age ranges on the HELP are provided to indicate when a skill "typically" emerges.
