Ordering Products: [Top]
You can order via our online store, or by fax or phone, or you can mail your order to us (pre-paid or using a signed PO). For online ordering, simply click on the "Product-Store" tab and then select the product you want which will take you to that product's page. Then select Quantity and click the "Add to Cart" button. Use the "Product-Store" tab to continue ordering (adding to your cart) until you are ready to complete your order.
  • Many VORT products have similar titles. Be sure to identify products by number (e.g., #158) and indicate the title, quantity, and price.
  • Select US Mail or UPS shipment (UPS requires a street address).
  • The best way to expedite your order is to order online, or fax us an official signed Purchase Order, or fax us an Order Form with your credit card information.
  • Orders from individuals must be prepaid by either check or credit card. Orders from organization must be prepaid or accompanied by a signed Purchase Order.
  • If your BillTo address is different from the ShipTo, clearly specify these addresses on your order/PO. We need both BillTo and ShipTo for all orders, even if you already have an account with VORT.
  • Please be sure to include your email address, and your job title/position.
Non-U.S. Orders: Our online store accepts credit card orders only from within the U.S. For all orders outside the U.S., please print and complete our Order Form (write clearly in black ink) and fax or mail it. Please be sure to include your email address and your Job Title/Agency (HELP, BCP, UMS materials are not sold directly to parents). We will email you the shipping/handling charges and a Total Amount. If the Total amount meets with your approval, you can fax us your credit card information (650-327-0747), or mail a check payable to VORT Corporation (in U.S. dollars on a U.S. bank draft, or an International Money Order in U.S. dollars).
Note: credit card information should not be emailed.

Rush U.S. Orders: You can place a rush order via our online store. If you need to place a rush order (other than via the online store), call VORT prior to 11AM (Calif. time). We will take the specifics regarding your order and call you back with a quote for rush shipping/handling. We will need your approval of the rush shipping/handling costs by 2PM (Calif. time) in order for the order to ship that day. Note: Shipping/handling charges on "rush" orders (other than Media Mail or UPS-Ground) cannot be refunded if the order is returned.

Upon receipt of your order: Inspect your shipment carefully. Make sure you have received all the items you ordered. If you find any problems or discrepancies with your order, please call us promptly at 650-322-8282. We can replace missing or damaged items only if we are notified (within 15 days) of your receipt of the shipment.

Pricing and Payment: [Top]
For many of our products, we have not raised prices in over five years. Our goal is to provide excellent, cost-effective tools. Prices are effective January 1, 2010, and subject to change without notice.
  • Minimum order Subtotal (before shipping/handling/taxes) is $20.00
  • Online orders must be prepaid using a credit card.
  • Telephone orders must be prepaid using a credit card.
  • Faxed or mailed orders must be prepaid via check or credit card, or must be accompanied by a signed Purchase Order.
  • All prices, including shipping and handling, are in U.S. Dollars.
  • Foreign orders must be prepaid in U.S. dollars on a U.S. bank draft/credit card.
  • If using a credit card, only VISA or MasterCard are accepted.
  • Payment terms are Net 30; FOB Menlo Park, CA.
Shipping and handling: [Top]
Online orders are shipped Monday-Friday within 48 hours. Our standard shipping and handling is charged on all orders (including prepaid orders). We ship FOB our warehouse per the following rates (we do not use customer freight/UPS accounts).
  • Media Mail (within the U.S.) - 10% of subtotal or minimum of $7.50-whichever is greater; [allow 2 weeks].
  • Note: Hawaii and Alaska orders are normally shipped U.S. Media Mail - 10% of subtotal or minimum of $7.50-whichever is greater [allow 3 weeks]. Call first for cost to use UPS ground/overnight/2nd day shipping.
  • UPS ground (within the U.S.) - 12% of subtotal or minimum of $9.50-whichever is greater; [allow 1+ week].
  • Rush non-online orders (within the U.S.), email or call first for the cost for overnight/2nd day shipping. See note above regarding cutoff time (1PM) for calling in Rush Orders.
  • Canada - 15% of subtotal or minimum of $15.00-which is greater; [allow 2-3 weeks].
  • Foreign - email or call for a ProForma.
Sending Returns to VORT [Top]
If a product does not meet your needs, you may return it for any reason whatsoever within 30 days of the invoice date. Important: First call VORT to secure a Return Materials Authorization Number (RMA#) before returning any materials.

Returns must be received at the VORT warehouse within 15 days of the date the RMA was issued (postage paid by customer and materials received at the VORT warehouse in original, saleable condition). We cannot be responsible for returns we do not receive, so for tracking and return delivery, it is best to send materials back via UPS. We charge a 10% re-stocking fee for all returns from bookstores.

For proper credit, be sure to include with the return VORT's invoice number and RMA#, the product number(s), and quantities when making the return. We will issue credit or send a refund (whichever applies) within 30 days after a return has been received at our warehouse (in saleable condition).

Previewing Products [Top]
To provide you with the opportunity to preview our materials, we ship all our products with a 30-day return guarantee. We do not normally provide "preview" or "comp" copies, but we will be pleased to ship you materials as an invoiced order. You don't have to pay the invoice unless you decide to keep the materials. If the materials do not meet your needs for any reason, you may return them and we will credit/cancel the invoice. We have found this is the most effective way to track and maintain control of the "preview" process. Please call us with any questions.

VORT products and publications are intended for use by and under the guidance of child development professionals. The user assumes all responsibility and liability for their use. VORT makes no warranties, express or implied, for its products and publications, including implied warranties of merchantability and of fitness for a particular purpose.

Each child is unique and masters skills and develops at a rate and an age often different from other children. VORT therefore urges that users seek additional professional advice regarding any concerns about a child's health or development.

All VORT products and publications are intended for use by and under the guidance of child development professionals, except our parenting resources (#191, #193, #270) which are for direct use by parents. Parents interested in using the HELP, the BCP, or UMS materials, must receive the materials (and instructions on their use) through a qualified child development specialist/professional, and must work with and consult the professional on all procedures, including Gross and Fine Motor activities, Safety Issues, and any questions whatsoever.

VORT is proud to offer what many in the field consider some of the best and most practical resources for early intervention, early childhood, Head Start, and special education. But we can do so only if the copyrights on our materials are respected. All VORT publications and products are protected by copyright. No purchaser or user may copy, reproduce, or transmit them for any purpose without first obtaining VORT's express written consent. Four VORT products include such a consent, and the conditions under which that consent applies, on the copyright page (i.e., products #156, #156-S, #194, and #194-S).

Sole Source Information [Top]
VORT confirms that it is the original publisher and sole source for all its products, including the HELP (Hawaii Early Learning Profile) materials such as the HELP Strands, Inside HELP, the HELP Charts, the HELP Checklist, the HELP Activity Guide, HELP at Home, and all the HELP for Preschoolers products. All our materials are copyrighted, printed or manufactured in the U.S.A., and our prices are uniform and effective January 1, 2010.
